Measuring of System Load in Embedded Linux
Skopal, Jakub ; Korček, Pavol (referee) ; Viktorin, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis describes the quantities which characterize the load of the embedded systems based on the Linux kernel. The library was designed and implemented to observe the load of the system in order to facilitate and unify the observation of individual quantities and their reciprocal coherence. Due to the lack of external dependencies of the library the memory requirements are low. To demonstrate the use of the implemented library, a program was designed which depicts the graphs of measured quantities in real time on a remote computer.
Intelligent Energy Measurement Device
Mrázek, Vojtěch ; Sekanina, Lukáš (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of this project is to design an energy measurement device that supports logging of historic values and offers simple analysis of the values. The proposed device enables to display actual quantities such as active and reactive power, current or even power factor. In addition to that, it also stores the energy profile that can be subsequently analysed. The device communicates locally via USB or remotely via Ethernet.
Monitoring and control system
Taťák, Martin ; Fujcik, Lukáš (referee) ; Pavlík, Michal (advisor)
This thesis discusses the topic of internet of things and its protocols and compatible devices in the field of home automation. Also defines the requirements for the system which designs in the form of concept and afterward makes practical realization.
Trully Smart Smart Socket
Valušek, Ondřej ; Zemčík, Pavel (referee) ; Materna, Zdeněk (advisor)
There is a large selection of so called smart sockets available on the market today. The possibilities of these sockets are sadly very limited. Typically, they can measure power consumption, be turned off and on remotely by mobile application and timer. This thesis deals with this problem by showing how a smart relay can be used to create a truly smart smart socket that can classify currently connected appliances using just short time window for up to three devices combined. The power consumption is measured using Shelly 1PM together for three plugs. Using time series feature extraction, unknown device detection with SVM and neural network classification, the accuracy was over 99%. on a dataset containing combinations of smart TV, lamp and a laptop consumption. Information about currently connected devices is displayed on a webpage and written to a database to be viewed later. The information about connecting and disconnecting a device can be further sent to a system for smart home management.
Electricity Consumption Measuring Appliance
Hájek, Zdeněk ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This thesis describes the designing and development of electricity consumption meter. First of all, a theoretical basis necessary for understanding a physical principle of measured subject is introduced. In the next part a suitable way of measuring in context of embedded devices is being looked for. Some of peripheral devices useful for project are described briefly. Then follows the detailed description of concept, that in the following part transforms to hardware design. Next part documents creation of the fi rmware. By the end of this thesis the project testing is described as well as the resume of gathered knowledge.
IPv6 and power efficiency in Wireless Sensor Networks
Kladiva, Roman ; Šimek, Milan (referee) ; Červenka, Vladimír (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with wireless sensor networks in terms of energy performance of IPv6. It contains a description of wireless sensor networks, sensor node analysis and 6LoWPAN and IPv6 protocols. The another part of the thesis is focused on adaptation layer 6LoWPAN and tools, which used to minimize the transmission unit, and thus to reduce energy consumption. Problems of energy consumption in wireless sensor networks is discribed in the thesis and its possible solutions at the physical and link layers. There are analyzed in detail possibilities of sleep mode and various MAC layer protocols are analyzed in detail. The measuremenr overview of the sensor node and own proposal to improve the measurement method are discribed following in the thesis.
Design and implementation of managed PoE injector
Frkal, Pavel ; Frolka, Jakub (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
This study deals with power supply for network devices using existing structured cabling. Various power supplies are analysed including their limitations and also deals with measuring of the consumed energy. The outcome is 24-port passive PoE injector for remote power supply of network equipment. It's suitable namely for remote devices which lacks built-in PoE support as these do not need major modifications (using passive injection). Power options including current measurement may be done via administrative web interface.
Motorcycle on-board computer
Hadwiger, Tomáš ; Vorel, Pavel (referee) ; Růžek, Václav (advisor)
My thesis deals with the construction of on-board computers for a motorcycle. The scheme is based on the parameters of onboard computers appearing on the market. In comparison with the models, which are offered commercially it also allows measurement of the motorcycle’s fuel consumption and location by using GPS. On-board computer measures speed, traveled distance, motor speed and engine temperature. It is controlled by a pair of eight-bit AVR microcontrollers. The measured data are showed by a graphical LCD display with touch screen.
Analysis of technical-economic parameters of the tractor kits in transport
Krátký, Martin ; Slimařík, Dušan (referee) ; Bauer, František (advisor)
This thesis deals with the use of the tractor in agricultural transport. The first part describes the current status in construction of tractor engines, transmissions and chassis that are used in tractors suitable for transport. The theoretical section includes an overview of the legislative requirements that must be followed for the tractor kits in transport on the road. The main objective of this thesis was to evaluate a measuring of fuel consumption and efficiency of the tractor JCB Fastrac 185-65 with two flatbed trailers. For this purpose was created the methodics off terrain measurement, which were carried out for different operation modes of the engine. The results were tabular and graphical processing including determining the accuracy of the method by calculating the relative error of measurement. For comparison a theoretical calculation of the consumed fuel was made. The aim of the measurements was to demonstrate fuel-saving during operation engine in the economic field and get an overview about fuel consumption and efficiency kits.
Smart metering
Lahodný, Libor ; Hrabina, Jan (referee) ; Szabó, Zoltán (advisor)
Semester paper describes the design of smart sockets and their management. Sockets are wirelessly controlled by a central unit. The socket has an integrated sensor, designed to measure current consumption of the device. If necessary, it can remotely disconnect the unit plugged in socket from AC network. Work includes analysis of individual system elements, design of electrical schematics and PCB. In the construction is included ethernet module, which is used to display data using a computer.. The device has been constructed and tested.
